About

MY STORY

In a rare set of events, Sophrology found me. As the science of "Consciousness in Harmony," Sophrology was conceived by a neuropsychiatrist and popularized by a Swiss physician. The use of Sophrology has led the Swiss Olympic Ski Team to many victories and is characterized as a sort of marriage between Eastern wisdom and Western science with the goal of promoting general wellbeing.

This Eastern and Western connection embodies my training as a nurse who has worked in the healthcare industry for more than twenty-five years, as well as my extensive background in holistic medicine. As a Sophrologist, a Reiki Master Teacher, NLP Master practitioner and Kundalini Yoga practitioner, I take a person-centered approach in my work where-in everyone is addressed as the total of their humanity, encompassing mind, body and spirit.

The values associated with these practices have deeply impacted my patients, which has been extremely rewarding for me. They complete and strengthen my philosophy as a healthcare advocate and wellness advisor.

As a qualified Sophrologist, Reiki healer, and holistic Kundalini practitioner with a deep understanding of healing, I am prepared to offer my services to you for healing, enlightenment, stress, sleep management, relationships, and personal connection.

The word ‘Sophrology’ comes from Greek. Another etymological origin of "Sophrology" is

the combination of  "Sophia" and "Logos", meaning the "science of wisdom".

Sophrology is a term created in 1960 by Colombian Professor Alfonso Caycedo, a neuro-psychiatrist to describe a method that he was developing to improve physical and mental health of his patients, as a means to reduce the use of medications and other treatments to provide a more holistic approach. The method is based on Eastern practices ( yoga, Zen Buddhism) and Western science (phenomenology), and widely used throughout continental Europe.

Sophrology is a structured mind-body and meditational method created to produce optimal wellbeing. It consists of a series of easy-to-do physical and mental exercises that, when practiced regularly, lead to a healthy, relaxed body and a calm, alert mind. The exercises are a form of dynamic relaxation (relaxation in movement), a combination of breathing techniques, conscious movements, positive visualization and meditation.
